Last 28 October a National event in was held in Roma, on ATSEPs qualification and licensing, hosted by the Lower Parliament Chamber.
The room was full, among the participants was Luca Quiriconi from SATTA.
All people/entities present there (including the Italian CAA and the Italian ANSP) concurred on the fact that it might be reasonable to have:
- licences for "safety critical" tasks (by ATSEPs, but also by flight inspectors of navaids and by AIS experts);
- requirements for training and qualification of "safety related" tasks (e.g. technical instructors);
- certification or qualification not only of ANSPs, but also of training institutes for ATSEPs and "operating organisations" (ref. ESARR 5) carrying out "safety critical" maintenance tasks (like Vitrociset in Italy, who will be pleased to contribute to the "impact assessment" if requested).
