Executive Board Presents New Governance Model

September 2nd, 2013

IFATSEA President Daniel Boulet presented proposed constitutional changes to the delegates of the 43rd General Assembly.  These resolutions, if adopted by the Assembly, will modify the Executive Board structure, transfer the existing Officers to the new Board and establish a process to fill the remaining vacancies on the Executive Board.

The proposed amendments  shift IFATSEA’s current operations. Regional activities will receive  greater attention and input into IFATSEA’s strategic direction through a Strategy Committee. Moreover, the creation of an Operations Committee acknowledges that IFATSEA requires day-to-day attention as well. This model will also give greater autonomy to sub-committees by allowing them to choose their own Chair and Secretary, create their own working groups and investigate the issues within their jurisdiction.

A copy of the President’s presentation can be found here.
